DIY: Light Bulb Ornaments

Calling all burnt out light bulbs! This DIY is for youuu :D 

Okay, so I didn't have a burnt out light bulb, and if you don't either, then don't fret because the dollar store has plenty ;) This DIY is perfectamundo for those wanting to do a fun holiday activity with family or friends or for those who want to make some just because it's almost Christmas! I made these little cuties because my mini Christmas tree in my room was looking a bit lonesome.


 
SUPPLIES FOR EACH ONE DOWN BELOW!


For Rudolph 
-1 light bulb
-hot glue
-scissors
-paint brush
-brown paint
-1 red puffball
-2 googly eyes
-1 pipe cleaner
-brown felt
-black felt
-ribbon 


For Frosty
 -1 light bulb
-hot glue
-scissors
-paint brush
-white paint
-red felt
-orange felt
-black felt
-2 buttons
-2 googly eyes
-1 toothpick
-ribbon


 For Santa 
-1 light bulb
-hot glue
-scissors
-paint brush
-yellow paint
-white paint
-red paint
-black felt
-red felt
-white felt
-1 white puffball
-1 button
-stuffing
-ribbon

NOTE: Many of these items can be found at the dollar store, Wal-Mart, or a craft store like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts :)

2012 Ugly Christmas Sweater Directions!

Just want to share how I created my ugly Christmas sweater from 2012 for those who are interested! Everything you need to know is down below!



SANTA

Santa Templates




  1. From RED felt, cut out body, arms, legs, and hat.
  2. From TAN felt, cut out  ears, head, and arms.
  3. From BLACK felt, cut out eyeballs and shoes.
  4. From WHITE felt, cut out pupils.
  5. From PINK felt, cut out nose.
  6. After cutting out all parts out, glue center of body on mid-bottom left of sweater (edges of body should not be glued down yet).
  7. Take arms and glue according to picture (make sure a little bit of the side edges of the arms are underneath the edges of the body).
  8. Take hands and glue at the end of arms.
  9. Take legs and glue according to picture (make sure a little bit of the top edges of the legs are underneath the edges of the body).
  10. Glue down the edges of the body.
  11. Glue down shoes on the bottom edges of the legs.
  12. Take the head and glue down right above the body (make sure to leave the sides of the head unglued)
  13. Take ears and glue according to picture (make sure a little bit of the side edges of the ears are underneath the head). 
  14. Glue down the sides of the head. 
  15. Take the eyeballs and glue according to picture.  
  16. Take the pupils and glue one on each eye. 
  17. Take the hat and glue right above the head. 
  18. With some fuzzy white yarn, cut out little pieces of the yarn, form swirly circles, and glue on bottom edge of head and on top of upper body to make the shape of the beard as in the picture. 
  19. Take the nose and glue in the between eyes.  
  20. With some fuzzy white yarn, cut out 2 pieces the same width as the eyeballs and glue above the eyes for eyebrows. 
  21. With fluffy material, cut out 2 strips the same width as the arms and glue at the bottom edge of the arms.  
  22. With fluffy material, cut out strip as wide as hat and glue down at the bottom of the hat. 
  23. Take a white puffball and glue at tip of the hat. 
  24. Glue a strip of ribbon as wide as the body for the belt. 
  25. Glue yellow puffball in center of belt for the belt buckle. 
SANTA COMPLETE! 
 

 RUDOLPH

Rudolph Templates



  1. From GOLDEN BROWN felt, cut out body.
  2. From TAN felt, cut out antlers and chest/underbelly.
  3. From BLACK felt, cut out eyeballs, jaw line, leg outline, and hooves. 
  4. From WHITE felt, cut out pupils.
  5. After cutting out all parts out, glue center of body on mid-bottom right of sweater (top edges of body should not be glued down yet).
  6. Take antlers and glue according to picture (make sure a little bit of the bottom edges of the antlers are underneath the top edges of the body).
  7. Glue down top edges of the body.
  8. Take jaw line and glue according to picture.
  9. Take leg outline and glue according to picture.
  10. Take 2 front hooves and glue on bottom of front 2 legs.
  11. Take 2 back hooves and glue the left one on leg furthest to the left and glue the right one on leg furthest to the right. 
  12. Take chest/underbelly right between the front 2 legs.
  13. Take eyeballs and glue on top of head.  
  14. Take pupils and glue one on each eyeball. 
  15. Take red puffball and glue at end of nose.
RUDOLPH COMPLETE!

Remember, you can use whatever materials you want to use :D Whatever makes the process easier for you! I suggest getting those candy cane colored pipe cleaners from Target and snowflakes from any craft store just to dress up the sweater a bit more :)
